SOURCE The Watch WHAT IT IS: a group that keeps 24/7 watch over the complex, patrolling the roofs and really every other surface while watching for signs of attack or unusual activity. WHAT'S INVOLVED: as a member of the watch, you'll take on several four-/five-hour shifts during which you’ll patrol designated areas around the complex, primarily keeping to the rooftops. if you're new to the watch, daud will closely observe your first shift, and will continue to keep a particular eye on you for the first week or so after. WHY JOIN: because you want to keep an eye out for future attacks. because the nights are long and you need a distraction. because you want to be a part of something, maybe meet new people. because you want to hone your observational and roof-climbing skills. because you're bored. because it reminds you of home. because it's something new. (oocly, it can be one more way of developing and facilitating space for cr.) EXPERIENCE REQUIRED?: characters need no prior experience. all inexperienced characters will be paired with more experienced watchmates until they've found their footing. OTHER ROLES: if you don't want to patrol, you can collaborate with the watch in other ways without being officially associated. for instance, if you're a complex courier, you might help by bringing food or company to watch members on-shift. if you have thoughts about how you might like to help out, either let me know, or just go ahead and throw your character in to help out! WANT TO BE ON-CALL?: the watch is always looking for people to be on-call in case the need for a fill-in or extra body should arise. if you'd like to have a little extra involvement with the watch, and if your character is reasonably skilled at patrolling, this might be an additional role for you. WHO HEADS IT: daud aka wolfofdunwall aka your neighborhood ex-assassin not!grandpa. as head of the watch, he both takes on shifts of his own and spends time supervising others (particularly those new to the group). IN-GAME REQUIREMENTS?: there are none. that is, you never need to participate in a watch log or play out your character's shift. this is just another way of getting your character(s) involved, maybe a way of creating more options for interaction.
